iBreviary

The iBreviary is one app that can help us deepen our spiritual life this Lenten Season. It is Christian Prayer made simple. We used to have difficulty using the Breviary. During special feasts when we needed to change pages from the proper of seasons, to the psalter, back and forth or to the common of martyrs, for example. Wow, it was a whole skill we needed to master. It took time before we could finally go with our community without making mistakes. We needed to prepare the pages of our breviaries beforehand. Now, it is all in one screen and all you need to do is click and scroll down. I rate this app with 5 stars and more because this can really help Christians pray better.

If you want to try this app, just go to the app store in your ios or play store in your android. Install the app and use it right away for prayer. Praying the iBreviary is our way of being united with our Holy Mother Church in the Liturgy of the Hours. Whoever made this app is an angel. Bless his soul! Who says technology is bad?

You may not be aware but the Church prays many times a day aside from the daily Eucharistic Celebrations. There are four major hours, namely: Lauds or Morning Prayer, Vespers or Evening Prayer, Matins or Hour of Readings and Compline for Night Prayer. In between, there are three smaller hours, namely: Terce or Midmorning Prayer, Sext or Midday Prayer and None or Midafternoon Prayer. We call this the Liturgy of the Hours. So, you see, the Church meets and prays seven times a day. On this online age, we can all come together and pray.

By the way, this iBreviary has a Missal, too. Just click the Missal to find the Readings at Mass daily. What an app! I’ve been using this for almost two years now and it’s really good, inspiring and above all, dependable!
