UNO-Recoletos: Emerging Student Culture

Before 7:00 in the morning college students rush to school for their first period class. Those without class, pass by Munsterific, I-Mart, 7-Eleven, Piazza or Arcade for a quick breakfast. Save More is just a stone’s throw away. It’s a Supermarket where you can buy your groceries and other stuff like cookware, small home appliances and other supplies like cleaning materials. If you’re looking for school supplies you can go to Libra Mart next block.

Those staying in Dormitories and Apartments near the University have comfortable lodgings and better amenities conducive for learning and growing. At P 900-1200 you can have a place to stay for one month, that is, if you are willing to share the room with 5 to 7 others. If you want an air-conditioned room where you will have 3 roommates only, you can pay P 1500.  Not bad, because an air-con room has a toilet and bathroom of its own. If you want to have your own living quarters, a 1-bedroom or 2-bedroom apartment is what you need. There you can entertain your family and friends in your own Living Room. It has its own kitchen and dining area, too. Rates range from P 5000-6500.

New experiences await students each day. They can cook their own meals. Libertad Market nearby offers fresh vegetables, fruits, eggs, fresh fish, dried fish and other sea products. If you're carnivorous, you can try the meat section where you can get chicken, pork, or beef.  You can buy rice, bread, corn or root crops like potatoes and sweet potatoes or camote, gabi and ube. Fruits and flowers are also available at Libertad Market. Now, if you don’t want to cook, you can eat at Jollibee or Mang Inasal for delicious fast food. Bakeries and Donut Shops sell fresh bread, cakes and pastries.

At UNO-R, tuition fees range from P 20,000 to P30,000 a semester, depending upon the course you intend to take. University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos has a College of Arts and Sciences and Agriculture, College of Criminal Justice, College of Information Technology, College of Business and Accountancy, College of Engineering, College of Education, and College of Medical Sciences which offers Nursing, Medical Technology and Pharmacy among others. The first batch of Pharmacy graduates will take the board exam next year. Through the years, UNO-R topped many National Licensure Examinations around the country. It’s nothing short of a culture of excellence.

If you want a Graduate or Post Graduate Education, you can enroll in the Recoletos Graduate School. It offers Masteral and Doctoral Courses.  You can also become a Lawyer, if you wish to, because UNO-R has a College Of Law which offers a Bachelor of Laws Degree. UNO-R is just a step away from your professional success.

The University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos is located in Bacolod City, Philippines.
